Hamsterley Hall, County Durham
Southern Green was commissioned to develop landscape plans as part of the proposed restoration of this Grade II* Listed property, currently on the English Heritage 'at risk' register. Working alongside conservation architects, Southern Green prepared survey plans of historic landscape features inclulding a listed gateway, an ornamental terrace and a stone cupola.
Southern Green also carried out a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment to help inform the siting of a proposed executive housing development within the estate lands. As part of this, mitigation proposals were drawn up to ensure the new development did not have an adverse effect upon the setting of the heritage features.
