Case Study : Yarm School
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team commissioned by Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners, Southern Green prepared a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment for this private school in Stockton-on-Tees. The school had aspirations to relocate and expand their sports pitch provision on a site near Yarm town centre, on the opposite side of the River Tees to the existing school. The development proposal included a potential cut and fill exercise to create flat sports pitches and the provision of a new pedestrian footbridge over the river to link the sites. As well as preparing the LVIA (which later formed part of an EIA), Southern Green worked alongside Fiona Green to prepare a Heritage Statement to consider how the potential landscape and visual impacts affected the site in the context of its history as a piece of informal recreation space accessible from the town centre.
