Southern Green are currently working alongside Kebbell Homes and P+HS Architects to progress a large scale housing development at Middle Deepdale, Scarborough.
Southern Green staff have (Helen Smith) historically been involved in the site, working on the initial assessment work which resulted in the release of the land for housing at Middle Deepdale back in 2011. Southern Green have prepared a range of Vision Documents to set design principles for the site and to ensure that this strategic allocation sits comfortably within its sensitive landscape context – without undue harm and with a true landscape led approach to the masterplanning. The team are working closely with engineers and architects to sensitively integrate the infrastructure required to deliver a scheme of this size.
Through the recent Local Plan Review in 2016 an extension to the site has been allocated, and Southern Green provided Landscape Assessment work to assist the release of further housing allocations, at Land North of Middle Deepdale. In early 2017 the first pocket of housing was granted detailed planning permission assisted by planting plans prepared by Southern Green, which enforce a strong sense of character and rural identity at the site. This permission secures the future of the wider development, helping to deliver viable and well considered long tem housing. Southern Green look forward to continued involvement with the design team and client on this exciting scheme.
