| The Southern Green team toasted their success with Middlesbrough Council at the Constructing Excellence in the North East Awards last week. Stewart Park was awarded 'Highly Commended' in the Heritage category, adding another accolade to the awards already achieved. Stewart Park in Middlesbrough, the birthplace of Captain Cook, was restored thanks to nearly £8m funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Middlesbrough Council. Southern Green is about to commence work on detailed design and delivery for this HLF park restoration project in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Having previously helped the Exhibition and Brandling Parks Community Trust prepare a successful First Round funding bid, we're delighted to be working alongside EBPCT and Newcastle City Council again. Once the site of the 1929 North East Coast Exhibition, Exhibition Park remains an important recreational space in the city, with a rich heritage.
