We are delighted that one of our private gardens, Runnymede Road, won a bronze award at the recent Association of Professional Landscapers Awards 2026 in the £100,000 to £175,000 project value category.
Liam Haggarty, who has been involved in the project from the outset and worked with the clients on another private garden project prior to Runnymede, was privileged to be invited to the ceremony at The Brewery London, alongside the client and contractor Premier Gardens.
The APL awards, held every year since 1995, are a way of recognising and celebrating APL registered members’ commitment to providing exemplary landscaping services.
The panel of judges, who are responsible for evaluating and selecting the winners, is composed of experts who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the process. One of the judges, Laura Anstiss from Oakmore Green stated:
"In today’s world providing an exceptional service is no longer a choice: it’s a necessity, customers have more options than ever before, with media at their fingertips their expectations are higher than ever. To stay ahead of the competition, businesses must prioritise excellence and ensure they meet the highest standard.
The awards bring together our industry professionals to demonstrate just how passionate and dedicated our industry members are, it is a great privilege to be part it and see firsthand just how incredibly talented everyone is."
Runnymede Road is a perfect example of a project that meets the highest standards of design to exceed client expectations. The design proposals for this private garden include a large bespoke circular corten water feature, with a floating timber bridge as the focal point of the layout. The circular form of the pool is repeated throughout the garden to define footpath routes, planting beds and the lawn, whilst creating the framework to display the client’s sculpture collection. Another focus of the design concept, albeit subtly integrated within the completed scheme, is the use of reclaimed and recycled materials, which has created a truly unique project, with sustainability at its core.
The client’s feedback following completion is a testament to our team’s talent and commitment to meeting the highest standards:
“It has been good to work with Liam again and to have a well thought out and detailed scheme. Feedback from visitors has been excellent and we are looking forward to seeing how the scheme transforms as the planting matures (…) we are very pleased with the finished garden.”
